Jessica McGillis, MSN, FNP-BC, APRN
Provider at CCMC Carson City
Jessica McGillis is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong foundation in acute and chronic care, and a deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered practice. She began her healthcare journey as a CNA and dialysis technician, gaining firsthand experience in patient support and technical care. After earning her RN from Alma College in 2018, Jessica worked as a registered nurse in dialysis, emergency departments, and ICU settings—developing critical care expertise and a calm, focused presence under pressure.
In 2023, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Spring Arbor University and became certified as an FNP. Since then, Jessica has been practicing in urgent care, where she provides comprehensive, evidence-based care across the lifespan.
Her clinical interests include nephrology and promoting continuity of care, driven by her early experiences in renal health and a belief in the power of sustained provider-patient relationships. Jessica’s approach to care is rooted in empathy, clear communication, and respect for each patient’s unique story—values shaped by growing up in a family of nurses, including her mother, aunt, and sister. She was inspired to follow in their footsteps by witnessing the profound impact compassionate nursing can have on individuals and communities.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys kayaking and reading—a balance of adventure and reflection that mirrors her thoughtful, energetic approach to life and healthcare.
